WHY WOMEN SHOP LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW

According to US 2007 Consumer spending survey, the average household expenditure for women’s and girl’s clothing amounted to USD749 compared to just USD435 for men and boys.  I guess even in 2012, women still leading in this department, regardless your location.  Why do women shop so much? What is our motive? I listed some of the possibilities :
  • De-stress
  • Detox (few hours shopping, no time to eat, drink mineral water only, so detox lah kan, no? yes?)
  • To drop some weight (yelah, jalan-jalan shopping can burn calory kan..exercise mah..)
  • Need to look good to woo your other half or other half to be
  • Too much spare time
  • Too much money (can you please GIVE – not lend ah, me some??)

Common sense, well, all the above are possible.  Tetttt!! Nah, wrong..wrong..wrong! According to new study from University of Minnessotas Carlson School of Management (if they tipu, then I tipu also lah ahhh) entitled “Ovulation, Female Competition and Product Choice : Harmonal Influences on Consumer Behavior” suggested that ovulating women are far more likely to spend money on sexy clothes than women at a different point in their monthly cycle.

The implication, according to the researchers, is that the women DO NOT buy sexy clothes ONLY – along with the purchases are shoes, cosmetics, health supplements and a world of other products – not to attract men directly, but rather to edge out their female rivals.

So, the reason why we, women shopped more than man is because of hormones, plus we are a jealous b*#@h, that thinks no one else should look better than ourself…walawei, gila!!

Whatever the study suggested, I shop because...
  • it makes me feel happy
  • the joy it bring, is priceless
  • I have nothing to do on my spare time (errr...)
  • I want to contribute to the economy growth of my country (and occasionally at some other countries as well)

Tomorrow is cuti, what do you think...shopping, again? heart say YES! pocket say...ARE YOU NUTS, WOMAN!!  Takpe, tomorrow I am going to KL International Book Fair, buku pun bukulah..

tata peeps!

LOUIS VUITTON

I L.O.V.E LOUIS VUITTON, I do....I do...I do..do..do..do..doooooo

I've known LV for quite some time, I think like 20 years ago but don't really bothered about it.  Arrghhh its for orang tualah..suddenly, I lay my eyes on Monogram LV Speedy 30 and...I'm in love.

Me at Louis Vuitton Paris

Me and Neverfull

My latest baby
The question now is WHY LV?

Some people said that it is all about the status symbol.  You see girl with a Chanel purse and Gucci sunglasses, you would go like "Wow! I wish I had that kind of money!".  Let me be frank with you, I DON'T have THAT much of money, I saved..for each and every item that I own (plus gift from TD as well of course)

There are also a survey result shows that women in their forties (PLS TAKE NOTE THAT I AM NOT FORTY, YET) are more likely to purchase fashion item than other age groups. They are likely to purchase fashion products from brands that are easily recognized by others as 'luxury brands'.  Hmmm so my obsession with LV is genuinely based on the 'AGE' factor?*blink*blink*

Anyway, thank you to Monsieur Louis Vuitton, that was born in 4th August 1821, a French designer and an entrepreneur whose name has become iconic in the fashion world, that forever and always have a special place in my heart (and pocket).

Until we meet again, I shall be seeing you (after my tabung has penuh) for items below :

FAREWELL MR OOI CHWEN REN

Just came back from Nirvana Memorial, Salak Selatan to pay last respect to Mr Ooi Chwen Ren, ex Regional Executive headed PABW Northern Region (Gombak and KL).  This is a first time, I went to a non-muslim's funeral, the tradition and ceremony may be different from us, muslims but the sadness and pain of losing someone very dear to you is still the same.

It torn me to acknowledge that I have not make time to keep in touch with him after we went our separate ways like 7-8 years ago, not a phone call or any attempt made to find him in Facebook. How we always take things for granted...

Anyway, its good to know that he is very much loved and respected not only by his family and relatives, but by his peers, friends and staff.  Parlour 18, 1st Floor, Nirvana Memorial just now was packed with those who wanted to pay their last respect to the late Mr Ooi, 2 buses were chartered for his staff to come down from Kelantan. Wow! Mr Ooi!! you deserved this grand farewell!

Rest in peace, Mr Ooi! It is an honour to have knowing and working with you.

SURVIVING MONDAYS

Are you feeling like this...

and

Instead of putting this on, to work....

You're wearing this....

Instead of looking like this....

You end up like this....

Well, that's Monday Blues symptoms y'all!

Nah, here is some tips I've found on How to Survive Mondays....

Wear your best clothes or the cheeriest colour from your wardrobe. You’d be surprise how much your clothes could affect the way you feel about yourself. - tried! it worked hokeh

Early start- bad things happen when you are late, the tension level is high, you are in a rush, you don’t have time for breakfast, when you arrive at your office, people are shoving work into your face. It may seem like a punishment to wake up earlier on Monday but trust me, when you have enough time to organize yourself, you’ll feel like you can conquer the day easier. - absolutely true

Treat yourself in the morning – Sit down and eat. - although it’s ok to treat yourself, make sure you eat well.  Have enough to drink too - your malaise could be a sign of dehydration. - so far, my mornings really chaotic, need to manage my time well then

Have a list of why you’re having the blues – you might be surprised that there will be things on the list that you can easily work on to make your Mondays better

Complete as much work possible on Friday – you’ll have less work to worry about on Monday - WHAT??work harder on Friday...?

Have everything laid out the day before – your clothes, files, etc. Saves you a couple of minutes in the morning so that you can concentrate on other, more important things. - Yup, agreed

Listen to happy songs – a tune can affect your mood. Let cheery, happy songs be the soundtrack to your Monday. - yes, its either happy songs or your fav song (even if it's Ombak Rindu), my mood will improve with good songs played

Laugh and smile. Recall happy memories or a good joke. If you can’t think of any, do it anyway (fake it till you make it) Some research is saying that even the thought of laughing raises your endorphin (feel-good hormones) levels and a fake laughter provides similar benefits to a real one.

Affirmative statements – Today is a great day. I will complete my report today. Stick positive messages around your monitor and take them seriously.

Choose to feel happy. If you don’t already know, being happy is a choice, so choose happiness!

This is my favourite - Buy something NEW for Monday – it doesn’t have to be big or expensive – a pen, a sketchbook, fancy post-it stickers (a handbag or two, won't do any harm kan....)

I will try it next Monday, wish me luck peeps.

Dah nak sambung buat kerja. Tata!

MEETINGS = BRAIN DEAD?

Hahahahalooooo!!!

Sorry, tak sempat nak update my blog for few days.  Sibuk from Monday -recovering the Monday blues- plus meeting, Tuesday, meeting in the morning and in the afternoon, today in the afternoon a short meeting with Boss.  Badan dah sengal sengal, I am not sure if meetings are the cause of it or sebab mmg badan tak berapa sihat.

Someone shared with me an articles on meetings, researchers actually found out that too many meetings can caused a measureable drop in people's IQ??? ha?? seriously??? Is that a reason why I sometimes ter 'accidently' called my big boss, Dr, Ustaz, Hj...instead of Datuk? haaaaa....

Here's the article :

Meetings don't just eat up time in the workplace, they actually make groups of people stupider, says new research.

Working in a group makes people perform worse on intelligence tests, as some group members are so anxious about doing well that they 'divert' their brain power towards maintaining their social status in the group.

'You may joke about how committee meetings make you feel brain dead, but our findings suggest that they may make you act brain dead as well,' said Read Montague the study leader at Virginia Tech.

Groups of volunteers showed measurable drops in IQ when asked to perform intelligence tests socially, with the results broadcast to the group.
Some people performed well in the 'social' tests, but others were affected badly - and overall, performance dropped.

Women appear to feel this pressure more than men - only three out of 13 female volunteers performed well in a social environment, with 10 out of 13 finding that their performance dropped.

Oh NOOOO!!!

No wonder after few meetings 3 days in a row, I have the urged to do things like this....

L? Loser?? no laaah...L for Che Lynn dah LEMAU

See ya peeps!
